Configure VIDA
SealRoute uses VIDA, an Indonesian PSrE (Penyelenggara Sertifikasi Elektronik), for three things:
- PSrE digital signatures: completed PDFs are signed with a VIDA certificate instead of SealRoute's own certificate.
- Identity verification and liveness: every signer verifies their identity (phone OTP, ID data and a selfie) before signing.
- e-Meterai: Indonesian stamp duty applied to completed PDFs.
All of this is set up per account from the Settings pages in the app. This guide walks through those screens.
Before you start
- Sign in as an account admin using your own login. The VIDA pages are not shown to other roles, or while you are impersonating another user.
- Have your VIDA credentials ready. VIDA issues separate credentials for each product: Identity Verification (Fraud API), Inline Sign, Liveness Web SDK and e-Meterai. Production credentials and URLs come from VIDA support.
- If your SealRoute plan includes VIDA through Aplindo credits, the credential fields are hidden and you only need the switches and options described below. A Credits balance is shown at the top of the VIDA PSrE and e-Meterai pages.
To open the settings, click Settings in the top navigation bar (or Profile in your avatar menu). The left-hand settings menu contains the three pages used in this guide: 2FA Webhook, e-Meterai and VIDA PSrE.
Step 1: Set up phone verification (2FA Webhook)
VIDA requires every signer to confirm their phone number with a one-time code, so configure phone OTP delivery first.
- Go to Settings → 2FA Webhook.
- Choose a provider and fill in its details so SealRoute can deliver OTP codes to signers.
- Pick the OTP delivery channel (WhatsApp or SMS). This changes only the wording signers see.
- Click Save.
Until this is done, the VIDA PSrE page shows a warning: "Phone OTP webhook is required for VIDA".
Step 2: Configure VIDA PSrE (signing, identity and liveness)
Go to Settings → VIDA PSrE.
General options
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Enable VIDA PSrE for signing | Tick it to turn VIDA on for the account. Once enabled, every signer has to verify their identity before signing, and completed PDFs are signed with a VIDA certificate. |
| Use sandbox environment | Leave this ticked while testing with VIDA sandbox credentials. Untick it when you switch to production credentials. |
| Verification type | Full (demographic + biometric) checks the signer's ID data and selfie. Demographic only checks the ID data only and is useful in sandbox when a test selfie cannot pass liveness. Use Full in production. |
| Re-verify identity for every document | Off by default: a signer who already holds a valid VIDA certificate only re-authenticates with phone OTP and a selfie. Tick it to run the full identity check on every document. |
Identity Verification (Fraud API)
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Fraud Client ID | Client ID issued by VIDA for identity verification. |
| Fraud Client Secret | Matching client secret. |
| Fraud API URL | Leave blank to use the sandbox default shown as the placeholder. For production, enter the URL from VIDA. |
Inline Sign API
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Sign Client ID | Client ID issued by VIDA for signing. |
| Sign Client Secret | Matching client secret. |
| Sign API URL | Leave blank for the sandbox default, or enter the production URL from VIDA. |
| Auth API URL | The VIDA login (token) URL. Leave blank for the sandbox default, or enter the production URL from VIDA. |
Liveness Web SDK
These are separate credentials VIDA issues for the in-browser selfie liveness check. They are optional: if you leave them blank, SealRoute captures a plain camera photo instead and VIDA scores it during identity verification.
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Liveness Client ID | Client ID for the Liveness Web SDK. |
| Liveness Client Secret | Matching client secret. |
| Liveness API URL | Leave blank for the sandbox default, or enter the production URL from VIDA. |
| Liveness SDK Version | Leave blank to use the default version shown as the placeholder, unless VIDA asks you to use a specific one. |
Partner ID (raType=ext)
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Partner ID (raType=ext) | The partner UUID from VIDA, if they gave you one. Leave blank to have one generated automatically for each request. |
Click Save. You should see "Settings have been saved."
If you clear both Fraud Client ID and Sign Client ID and save, the stored VIDA credentials for the account are removed.
Step 3: Configure e-Meterai (optional)
Skip this step if you don't need stamp duty on your documents. e-Meterai uses its own credentials, separate from the ones on the VIDA PSrE page.
Go to Settings → e-Meterai.
| Field | What to set |
|---|---|
| Enable e-Meterai for API submissions | Tick it to allow submissions to request an e-Meterai stamp. |
| Use sandbox environment | Leave ticked while testing with sandbox credentials. |
| Client ID | e-Meterai client ID from VIDA. |
| Client Secret | Matching client secret. |
| x-api-key | e-Meterai API key from VIDA. |
| API Base URL | Leave blank for the sandbox default, or enter the production URL from VIDA. |
| Token URL | Leave blank for the sandbox default, or enter the production URL from VIDA. |
| Default document type | The Peruri document category used when a submission doesn't specify one. |
Click Save.
To stamp a document, open the template in the editor and drop an e-Meterai field where the stamp should go. New submissions from that template are stamped automatically once all signers have completed.
Step 4: Check that it works
Test the connection
Both the VIDA PSrE and e-Meterai pages have a Test connection button next to Save. Save your settings first, then click it.
- VIDA PSrE: a success message reads "VIDA connection successful". If it also warns that the phone OTP webhook is not configured, go back to Step 1.
- e-Meterai: a success message reads "VIDA e-Meterai connection successful", with the number of stamps remaining and document types available.
If the test fails, the page shows the error returned by VIDA. Check the client IDs, secrets and URLs, and make sure Use sandbox environment matches the credentials you entered (sandbox or production).
Send a test document
- Open a template, go to its Preferences, and check that Sign with VIDA PSrE is on. This toggle appears only after VIDA PSrE is enabled, and lets you turn VIDA off for individual templates.
- Send the template to yourself, with your own email and phone number.
- Open the signing link. Before you can sign, you are asked to confirm your email and phone with one-time codes, enter your ID details and take a selfie.
- Complete the document. The completed PDF is signed with a VIDA certificate, and the submission's audit trail shows the VIDA steps.
- If you set up e-Meterai and the template has an e-Meterai field, the completed PDF also carries the stamp, and the audit trail shows its serial number.
Going live
When you move from sandbox to production:
- Replace the sandbox credentials with the production ones from VIDA on both the VIDA PSrE and e-Meterai pages.
- Fill in the production URLs that VIDA gave you.
- Untick Use sandbox environment on both pages.
- Set Verification type to Full (demographic + biometric).
- Save, then run Test connection again on each page.
